Oil Paintings

Almost abstract. Brilliant light contrasting with a myriad colours descending to deepest prussian blue and indigo. Below a semi abstract painting with batik collage inspired by a trip to Orkney with it's ancient rocks with strange markings interspersed with rock pools catching the light like strips of neon light.

To the left is an oil painting contrasting the energy and colour of the reeds with the clear tranlucent void which is the reflection of the sky above. A few dry autumn leaves float like small celestial bodies hinting at the presence of the surface water.

Above right a clear cold frosty morning. the sun cutting through the trees creating bars of wet lemon colour beside the still frozen blue grass, yet untouched by the morning sun. In the shade of the  frosted foreground winter leaves lie like confetti.

Ambiguity..... what's up is down... what's down is up, each creating a new world of beauty, of visual poetry. Above St Agnes island seen from Tresco beach.
